The former track is a wonderful blend of Tommy James & the Shondells, Boston, and Mott the Hoople's roots rock glam attack.

They were in my top 5 in high school. Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2013. "R.U. Other than the false funk of "Searchin' for Celine," it's flawless as a finely tuned tome that begins with sci-fi humor and ends with gothic horror -- all of which can be hummed to. "Night Flyer", "Dial M For Murder" & "Please Hold" (which I'm not crazy about @ all but reminds me of The Stones type of song) & finally the old 1963 classic "Be My Baby". As a closer, "I Love the Night" may have been a better choice, but this track has all those layered harmonies, a reverbed piano, Dharma's power chords, and lyric fills that never lose their sense of menace and once more, a story.

Blue Oyster Cult's version of "Be My Baby" sounds SIMILAR to their other song "Goin' Through the Motions" musically. But being an ON YOUR KNEES fan, it seemed a little less rocking even compared to AGENTS. It is so much more convenient & handy to have these on CD's to play on my portable player. These guys used to fill arenas so it's a pleasure to actually get to see and hear them up close. BOC were the only band in their league, walking the line between AOR rock and metal, and offering such detailed narratives. It's probably not my best, but it's not my worst. Album Rating: 2.5This album has plenty of it's good and bad moments but I think Godzilla and Nosferatu are the most stand out tracks on this one and the rest is somewhat generic if not weak more than one occasion. Well written, arranged and performed!

However, things may have looked very different in late 1977. The mastering on this Culture Factory pressing does not sound as notoriously problematic to my ears as the mastering on the Culture Factory CD version of the album--compressed to the hilt and exceedingly loud--but it is not revelatory, either. I was fortunate to see them back in the late 70's early 80's with their laser show. So I cobbled one together. Not one of my favorites, but this album does include their classic power chord rocker "Godzilla". You may find it useful to use implications about your opinion.,they make the review less "informal" and generally more consistent.

When this was first released, some of my friends and to some extent, even I thought this was a little tame for them but the arrangement was so classically pure, it's become one of my favorites. The "Spectres" album is classic BOC, dark, oblique, and sinister, with a slight satirical streak. "RU Ready to Rock" was along with "Godzilla" the signature stadium rock tune, made for the stage while also bringing the band's sci-fi obsession to fore once again (RUR being a classic science fiction story). "Golden Age of Leather" was the albums true epic as it mixed a variety of sounds and styles including an almost Beach Boys - Good Vibrations snippet towards the second half of the song. Blue Öyster Cult scored big with Agents of Fortune and its now-classic rock hit, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper."

There music is just a little too sparkly and happy joy joy for my tastes. Now Blue Öyster Cult tries the same thing. Sort of like an undercooked burger, lookin' good and flavorful on the outside, but that pink core that reveals itself once you bite into it can make you sick if the cows weren't in stellar health. It's sad, but unlike most BOC tunes "Godzilla" grows old. The song most people seem to recognize as BOC is "Godzilla", which unfortunately thanks to unimaginative DJs is also their most played song next to "Don't Fear the Reaper", from AGENTS OF FORTUNE.
