cannot rdp to vmware virtual machine

I solved it by creating a VPN connection (UltraVNC in my case) from one of my computers to the one I wanted to give control of. Select and copy the password and paste it into an ASCII text editor such as Windows Notepad. It's not a vm problem, it seems to be something about my ethernet card that remote desktop doesn't like? Why would your "security" officer require this? Any ideas guys?
