April 1: April Fool’s Day – North America, most of Europe Originates supposedly from confusion and rejection produced by the change from the Julian to the Gregorian Calendar in the 16th century France/Europe. While there are an incredible number of relevant days celebrating individuals, religion and more, we have compiled a list of those of major importance to U.S. Multicultural communities. Buddhism, one of the world’s top religions, 4/9 – Jewish: Passover begins – marks the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, begins previous evening with a Seder or meal, 4/12 – Christian: Easter – one of the most important holiday days in the world’s largest religion, celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, 4/21 – Jewish: Yom Hashoah or Holocaust Remembrance Day, 4/21 – Cancer
